East Ruston village sits between the East Coast and the Broads National Park. The village is home to the celebrated East Ruston Vicarage Gardens with its huge variety of planting and excellent tea shop. The village has beautiful surrounding countryside with quiet lanes which are ideal for walking and cycling. There are footpaths leading directly from the barn for long walks (or short!) and the Norfolk Coastal Path and 100-mile Norfolk Coast Cycleway are very close by. The capital of the Broads - Wroxham is five miles away and Stalham Staithe 3 miles; hire a day boat or walk along the banks looking out for the many species of birds. You’re in the perfect spot for visiting the local beaches too. The nearest are at Happisburgh, Waxham and Sea Palling, all of which are dog friendly. A visit to nearby Horsey to see the seals is something you should definitely make time for.

Reviews

It was not a problem as we did not need the twin room, however the noise from the machine room next to the twin is very noticeable and potentially disturbing. Having said that we had a lovely stay. Many thanks to the owners.

Mr M,

A very lovely barn conversion, has everything you need. Also very comfortable, also near to many beaches. Nice selection of goodies on arrival.

Mrs R,

Beautifully converted barn with absolutely everything needed for a relaxing holiday with your dog.

Mrs T,

Very spacious, comfortable and clean. Perhaps the best showers we've ever come across! Liked the fact that doors led outside from every room. Pretty cottage garden to sit out in. Nice views out to greenery everywhere. Good location to explore the coast and inland surroundings. East Ruston Old Vicarage Gardens very close indeed and definitely worth taking a look at. All in all one of the nicest places we have stayed and we would highly recommend.

Mrs R,

Spacious, clean, well equipped, private enclosed rear garden in a great location. We had a fabulous time and will be back.

Mr H,

Beautifully designed, spacious, light barn conversion. The exterior does not do justice to the inside. Herb and flower garden at the back very picturesque. Near beaches, walks and many great locations. Only downside, very near a surprisingly busy road, so quite some traffic noise. Did not stop us from enjoying our holiday though.

Mr G,

Beautiful property, very nicely renovated and very well equipped. Owners kindly provided welcome tray of milk, biscuits and apple juice - plus tea bags - which were very well received after a long journey. Would have been nice to have a couple of comfy chairs for the garden as the weather was so hot, benches were a bit uncomfortable after a while.

Mrs Tracey M,

Excellent property, spacious and comfortable and well equipped. We have booked through original cottages for some years and this property rates as one of the best. Ideal for exploring Norfolks beaches and broads.

Mrs R,

The accommodation was lovely, well equipped and very comfortable. Communication from Original Cottages was excellent. Thank you for making our holiday so wonderful.

Mrs Deborah B,

A superb holiday barn conversion with every thing provided and spotlessly clean only slight drawback was slight road noise due to proximity to road,we would be happy to return.

Mr Charles P,

Beautiful cottage in a great location for exploring, beaches or trips to Norwich. The cottage is spacious, well equipped, luxurious and has a lovely light and airy feel to it. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We loved our stay.

Mr D,

Wonderful weeks restful holiday

Mrs Pat Y,

Lovely cottage, ticks all our boxes, very spacious, good heating, beds and couches comfortable, great TV, superbly equipped kitchen, two great bathrooms/showers, private enclosed garden for the dog, good off road parking, cannot fault it we had a lovely time there.

Mr M,

This superb barn conversion is set in a quiet rural location and is within easy reach of the coast. It is perfect for cycling and walking and is easily accessible by car to some of the larger, popular resorts. This spacious barn provides a very high standard of accommodation and is very well equipped. The owners were thoughtful, helpful and communicated well. We enjoyed our New Year break so much we have already booked to go back during the summer !

Ms S,

The cottage was ideal, being spacious, well equipped, modern and comfortable. It was lovely to have a wood burning stove for the cooler evenings. The enclosed rear garden was dog friendly and a lovely space to enjoy the sunshine. It was ideally located to visit the Norfolk Broads, Coastal towns and vast beaches. There were ample shops, pubs and restaurants within a short drive. Would definitely stay again if visiting Norfolk.
