Description

The moment you walk in you know you are home.  The Meeting House is a pretty, detached, 18th Century Norfolk cottage, traditionally built from brick and flint with a welcoming atmosphere that will draw you in.  Enjoy the artwork, cosy around the impressive wood burner, light the fire in one of the bedrooms, soak in a fabulous copper bath in another – the owners have thought of all the right touches for you to enjoy your stay.  Dogs are welcome here too and the pretty gardens are enclosed, private and a suntrap in warmer weather.  Field Dalling is a quiet village within easy driving distance of the stunning north Norfolk coastal villages, with Blakeney under 4 miles away and Wells-next-the-Sea just 7.5 miles away, recently winning the National Fish & Chip Awards earlier this year. An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the sandy beach is dog-friendly and backed by dunes that are teeming with wildlife. If birdwatching is your thing then visit Cley Marshes Visitor Centre, 5 miles away, which boasts panoramic views of surrounding marches.  Alternatively, head to the pretty Georgian town of Holt (5 miles) and spend an afternoon browsing the art galleries, antique shops, café culture and so much more.  There is a good farm shop and café at nearby Back To The Garden, showcasing the best of Norfolk produce and good pubs in all directions, The Blue Bell pub in Langham is a 30 minute walk down the picturesque bridal path almost opposite the property. The cottage is in a great area to explore at any time of the year and a stay in this beautiful cottage should not be missed. Shops: 3 miles Pub: 2 miles

Field Dalling is well placed for exploring the splendid coastline and the pretty country villages that abound in this beautiful part of Norfolk.  There is excellent walking and cycling along quiet lanes with many footpaths to explore.  The sea and coastal marshes are only four miles away and two magnificent sandy beaches backed with pine woods with plenty of walks and cycle trails can be found at Wells-next-the-Sea and Holkham; easily accessible in a short drive.  The town of Holt offers boutique shopping, a great food store and plenty of pubs, coffee shops and restaurants to discover.  Whilst here do not miss out on a gorgeous steam railway journey along the coast to Sheringham.  National Trust houses at Felbrigg and Blickling and glorious parkland at Sheringham should also be on your ‘to do’ list.

Reviews

Our 4th visit to this wonderful cottage.Remains fabulous.

Mr F,

High spec, quirky, cosy, understated luxurious touches. At first glance the cottage appears lovely, but then you start to notice the high quality features which provide a level of comfort that exceeded expectation. The bedding and mattress, the Dyson fan/heater, the range, and even things such as the kitchen taps! David and John have put together a beautiful bolt hole with all these modern accents that sit nicely alongside the wood burners, beams, and my favourite hidden feature of the original cattle ring on the wall of the second bedroom. We wish we had booked for longer!

Mrs J,

Very high specification on appliances, interesting décor married with high standard of comfort. Ideal location for visiting Norfolk's highlights and dog friendly local area

Mrs B,

A truly beautiful and well equipped cottage, spotlessly clean and tidy. Situated on the edge of the village of Field Dalling, it was an excellent location with public footpaths for dog walking a very short distance from the cottage. Location is perfect only being about 15 mins from Blakeney and 10 mins from Holt.

Mrs S,

This is a lovely cottage - the owners clearly want their guests to have a nice stay and that is evidenced by the extremely high quality fixtures and fittings. It is in a gorgeous part of Norfolk and was so peaceful and quiet, yet not far from the beach and other attractions. I would definitely stay here again - had a fab weekend!!!

Mrs B,

A lovely cottage, lots of personal touches and very well equipped. The secure enclosed garden was perfect for our dogs and the beds were very comfy.
