Reviews

The house is in a lovely position and has a wonderful layout allowing for relaxing spaces and good dining surrounded by the garden. Beautifully private too.

Mrs P,

Myself and my 5 friends absolutely loved Southway Cottage where we stayed last weekend, it is absolutely stunning, each room and space has been thoughtfully decorated and it was spotlessly clean. The grounds are gorgeous, we had a muntjac, pheasant and squirrels as resident wildlife. It was so peaceful so an excellent place to chill out if needed. It is in such a good location for getting out and visiting local areas. We went to Sheringham and on the steam train to Holt which was great fun. We had dinner in the Village Inn in West Runton on Saturday, the staff were lovely and the food was very good, so would also recommend a visit there. We would absolutely recommend staying at Southway and if we are lucky enough, would love to come back ourselves.

Ms G,

We loved the cottage and its location. What Southway had which was really difficult to find elsewhere when travelling as a large group was a really good design with a separate bathroom for most bedrooms, really good space for relaxing in where you were together but had your own space. Very easy to walk, drive or even take the train from with no end of places to visit and eat/drink around.

Mr A,

We rented this property for a sewing retreat weekend and it was perfect, it was clean, comfortable and welcoming, the decor is beautiful and we will definitely be booking again. I would not hesitate to recommend it to friends and family. Lovely welcome package too.

Mrs S,

This property is in a great location, very peaceful, private and relaxing surroundings. The quality of furnishings and equipment was exceptional. The welcome pack was also appreciated with a great coffee machine and ample coffee pods supplied. The garden room was perfect for observing wildlife in the large garden. We absolutely enjoyed our stay at South Way and would definitely recommend to others. The owners have made this property more than a “ home from home”.

Mrs L,

South Way is an absolute dream! We were two families of adults and children aged 7-14. This property has the “WOW” factor when you arrive. The garden is beautiful and much fun for children and adults alike. With the nature around all day long, it’s idyllic. The property is well set out, spacious, decor is lovely (everyday I noticed something different) and I love there is a TV only in one room, where those who want TV can gather. Likewise, there is plenty of space for individual time. It is very well equipped, you’d be hard pressed not to find what you needed in the kitchen. The welcome pack of local goodies was a lovely touch and very nice. Positioning of property is ideal, across the road to train station which takes you to Sheringham, Cromer or further afield to Norwich. West Runton itself has everything you need, pub, shop, tea room etc. Beach (partly with lifeguards) again ideal, rock pools, shallow sea, lovely sand, cafe (reasonably priced) and toilets. About 10/15 min walk. There is absolutely nothing to not be happy with at South Way. Also, the staff at Original Cottages are extremely friendly and helpful if required.

Mrs D,

On the whole it was the perfect holiday home. Only improvement would be bath mats for showers as slippy.

Mrs Sue A,

South Way was just perfect for our large family aged 91-7. Very well equipped kitchen and very comfortable beds and lounge. Garden was brilliant for both ages with lots of space to enjoy peaceful moments and more exuberant family games. West Rundon is a fantastic village lovely pub and sea food at fisherman’s shop eatery. So much to do other than beaching within a short drive or walk. Highly recommend and will remember for the next family holiday.

Mrs B,

Really beautiful property, accurately described (not over-stated at all) and with great facilities.

Mrs Sarah I,

A superb property in a lovely quite location.

Mrs H,

Our only slight issue was the lack of workspace in the kitchen and we struggled a bit getting the hob to work fully.

Ms Sally P,

Every party has their own unique requirements. We are a group of 5 ladies, entering the golden years and we have now stayed at South Way two years running. We will be back same time next year if the property is available. Multiple bedrooms and bathrooms with an amazing entertaining space is what hits all the right notes. The train station is a stones throw away and an hour in to Norwich city centre. West Runton is neatly situated for access to Cromer, Sheringham and Holt. We love visiting all these areas and there are still several establishments that we have not yet savoured so cannot wait for our next trip! Thank you for providing a beautiful home away from home for our celebrations.

Mrs M,

The property was perfect in every respect, clean, comfortable, well equipped, warm and welcoming. The welcome gifts were good quality and thoughtful. Thank you for a wonderful family weekend in a property of extremely good standard.

Mrs B,

Home from home. Very spacious with all you could need for a lovely break come rain or shine. Great proximity to the train station which made getting people together so easy. Quality of the furnishings and décor excellent and so nice to see local artists championed. Wildlife in the garden from pheasants, squirrels to deer as well as listening to the owls at night. Would have no hesitation in staying again.
