Elsing is a delightful village in the Wensum valley surrounded by peaceful farmland and water meadows. The village is widely spread with a selection of interesting buildings such as The Mill on the edge of the River Wensum, moated Elsing Hall and at the centre the parish church of St Mary dating from 1347. There is also a traditional village pub that serves good food. Elsing is well placed to explore the surrounding area: the villages, marshes and beaches of the Norfolk coast are just over half an hour's drive, and the cathedral city of Norwich is a twenty minute drive away. Closer to home you will find attractive villages such as Lyng, Bintree and Reepham where you will find independent shops selling local produce, plus tea shops, pubs and restaurants offering brunch, lunch and dinner. The area is great for walking, cycling, bird watching, golf and fishing or just relax and enjoy the countryside.

Reviews

We spent the Christmas week in Mill Cottage and what a wonderful cottage in a gorgeous location. Lisa had beautifully decorated it for us and even surprised us with some gifts under the tree. The cottage was lovely and warm and so well equipped that we wanted for nothing. The cottage is within easy reach of the A47 and surrounding towns like Holt, so a good base if you want to explore. We enjoyed a nice round walk to Sparham Pools but mostly just enjoyed the peace and comfort of Mill Cottage. A real home from home. We loved it so much we've booked again.

Mrs C,

The property was spotlessly clean, really well equipped, very comfortable and in a beautiful location, we will definitely return in the summer so that we can enjoy the river. The communication before we arrived was excellent, the owners have thought of everything! Thank you.

Mrs T,

Delightful property, very well equipped and maintained to an excellent standard, spotless! We had an enjoyable stay and would highly recommend, hope to return soon.

Mrs C,

I cannot fault the property. Very clean, decorated to a high spec, well equipped and absolutely stunning setting. Better than I'd ever imagined. It had all we needed and more. Lovely owners too, who went out of their way to ensure we were home from home. We stayed for a long weekend and it just wasn't long enough. We will be back!

Mrs L,

The cottage was situated in lovely grounds and was furnished and decorated to a very high standard. All rooms were spacious. It was great to have the use of the summer house overlooking the water. Everything we needed, and more, was provided. The welcome wine and biscuits were a lovely touch and much appreciated. As a group of amateur artists, we found it was never very far to travel to some ideal painting locations. Couldn't fault it in any way.

Miss A,

Probably the best holiday accommodation we’ve stayed in. Amazing location, spotlessly clean and tidy and with high quality furniture, fixtures and equipment. Just two of us stayed but it would comfortably accommodate six and with the three bathrooms would suit families or groups of friends. We would have no hesitation in recommending this cottage.

Mr L,

Beautiful cottage in a lovely location. Great fishing & easy access to lots of great places in Norfolk. Cottage has everything you need & is spotlessly clean.

Mrs H,

Mill cottage was such a wonderful place for a holiday. Amazingly clean, very well equipped throughout and such a cosy, welcoming cottage. A great base to explore Norfolk, but also nice to spend time chilling out too. The summer house is so tranquil, perfect with a drink & a book. I would definitely recommend this lovely cottage

Mrs A,

Best property we’ve ever booked.Highly recommend.

Mr Brian S,

Outstanding accommodation, views and location. We can’t wait to visit it again!

Mrs S,

Outstanding. Have booked again for May 2024.( May event try to fit in a second week in Sept. / Oct. later this year).

Previous Customer,

We had such a wonderful stay at Mill Cottage. The home was exactly as advertised , but actually even better than photos. Comfortable, spotless, beautiful surroundings and everything one needs . The summerhouse at the pond was amazing and we were fortunate to have a beautiful sunset from there one evening. Thank you so much for the wonderful welcome pack. Loved the fact that there were 3 bathrooms for 3 couples especially when 2 couples are elderly. Highly recommend and hoping we will return sometime soon.

Mrs G,

Our 4th stay and loved it just as much as the first time. Property is immaculate and well stocked - other than risking it being booked up for us in the future cannot recommend highly enough!

Miss L,

Excellent location, extremely well appointed, warm and comfortable

mrs S F,

Mill cottage is a fabulous country retreat, very comfortable. We loved our stay here, lots to do in North Norfolk countryside. Only downside was that we were not able to enjoy the summer house which was too cold to sit in, would be nice if there had been some electricity in there so you could put a heater on and maybe a light. All in all a fabulous holiday in a fabulous Cottage .

Mr Wayne B,

Photos didn't do it justice! It was beautiful, clean and spacious, lovely and warm, well equipped, hated to leave.

Mrs F,

Mill Cottage is just perfection! We had a fabulous break here and we all fell in love with the place. It has everything and the layout, space and decoration is just superb! Super cosy and a homely feeling, it was just dreamy and we will definitely be back.
