Burnham Market is a well-known destination on the Norfolk map. It has a delightful selection of boutique shops, café culture, delis’, good restaurants and pubs – most things can be found in this elegant Georgian village. It is also just a mile or so from the spectacular coast, which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which should not be missed. There are beautiful sandy beaches at Brancaster – and a great links golf course too. There is sailing to be found both in Brancaster and along the coast at Blakeney, where you can also pick up a boat to see the resident seal colony basking on the shoreline at Blakeney Point. Don’t miss majestic Holkham Hall, Deer Park and its beach or Wells-next-the-Sea with its picturesque beach huts and one of the regions’ best chefs hosts a great fish and chip shop at Thornham if you are looking for some traditional fayre. Come in the summer but come out of season too and enjoy watching the over-wintering birds fly in at Titchwell RSPB Marsh Reserve, the area is a-wash with great walks and it is good cycling country too. The historic houses of both Houghton Hall and Sandringham make lovely days out and a walk round their grounds at any time of the year is a delight.
