Description
Forming part of one of the original merchants’ houses in the village built approximately 200 years ago, Dotty’s Cottage is now a pretty holiday home. The cottage is located a moments stroll away from the quayside, some beautiful coastal walks, a great local delicatessen, numerous restaurants, pubs and cafes. On cooler days, curl up in front of the wood burner with a good book and a glass of wine and when the sun is out, a step or two away from the cottage is Dotty’s Deck, a lovely enclosed spot for outdoor entertaining and deckchair lounging. For the more energetic, bring your bike – there is a lockable store at the cottage – and discover this beautiful part of the coast, much of which lies within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With the dog welcome too, the whole family can enjoy a stay as this delightful, modern day cottage on the coast, at any time of the year. Shop/Pub: within walking distance

Blakeney with its harbour, marshes and beautiful scenery is a hotspot for a great coastal holiday. The quayside is the hub of the village, where the tidal creeks rise and fall; it’s a great place for the family to try their hand at crab catching or a good starting point for a walk with the dog along the coastal path to Morston. Have lunch at The Anchor and catch the Coast Hopper bus back. Take a trip out to Blakeney Point and see one of the largest seal colonies in the UK basking in their natural habitat; come in November and see the new-born pups too. The village has a good local store, an excellent delicatessen and some good places to drink and eat. This part of the coast is stunning and diverse and you will be able to find, sailing, walking, birdwatching, cycling and so much more. Venture inland to the elegant Georgian town of Holt and spend a day wandering in and out of its antique shops and art galleries, boutiques and book shops, food hall and fishmongers, its charm will have you hooked! There is much to discover in this glorious patch of Norfolk, one visit will certainly not be enough.
