Description

Swan Lodge Barns lay half way between the well know coastal village of Cley and the lovely Georgian town of Holt. Taylors Barn and Bixes Barn are two single storey tastefully finished barn conversions which both sleep six guests This is an ideal arrangement for families or friends wishing to holiday together yet at the same time retain some private space. The dining table seats up to fourteen in Taylors Barns so everyone can gather together, for lively lunches or slow suppers. The grounds are well kept and have quiet areas to relax in, you also have use of the games barn, a building with heaps of character where you will find table tennis or table football among many other things or children can play on the enclosed lawn in front of the games room Shop/Pub: 1 mile

Taylors Barn has an open plan living area which is  super place to gather together to relax on the comfy sofas or enjoy long lazy meals at the dining table which seats up to fourteen, three spacious bedrooms and two beautifully finished  bathrooms complete this lovely property.

Bixies Barn is stylish and sleek with a private screened patio, the perfect place to enjoy a quiet coffee and catch up on some reading.  The open plan living space is a great place to relax, the dining table seats up to six, and there are three attractive bedrooms and two bathrooms making this a super place to stay.

Both properties have:

Garden: Shared court yard to front of properties. Bixes Barn has a small screened patio to the front of the property, Taylors Barn has a larger seating area at the rear of the barn, both have table and chairs and charcoal barbeques and use of communal woodland area to rear of properties with swing and slide.
Parking: Shared gravel courtyard to front with space for up to four large cars Heating: Under floor oil central heating, wood burner – starter pack of fuel supplied
Pets: One large dog welcome in each barn. Please be aware of booking information regarding pets.

Notes:  These are non -smoking properties. Mobile reception – variable. Young children should be supervised at all times whilst playing in the woodland play area and on the play equipment. Due to nearby residential properties music is not be played or be audible out side the properties. 

The Georgian town of Holt is a pretty town just inland from the north Norfolk Coast. Offering plenty of shopping opportunities it also benefits from having a good range of cafes, pubs and restaurants offering locally produced food and drink. On the outskirts of Holt is Holt Railway Station where you can pick up the Poppy Line and enjoy a train ride to Weybourne and Sheringham on a diesel or steam train – great fun for children and adults alike! Cley which is a short drive north is a pretty village with a windmill, art gallery, delicatessen and tea rooms. It is also home to Norfolk Wildlife Trust visitor centre, Cley Marshes Centre where you can sit in the café and enjoy panoramic views across the marshes or birdwatch from one of the hides.

We had Taylor’s and Bixie’s Barns for our family Christmas - ten adults (one who uses a wheelchair most of time) three children (one a baby) and two dogs. The barns met all our varying needs, they are spacious and in a great location for exploring the surrounding area. We had a lovely time.

Swan Lodge Barns is set in a beautiful part of North Norfolk and has been perfect for a winter visit. We had a wonderful long weekend enjoying the local area with long walks and lunch at a local pub. The Barns are very warm with underfloor heating and welcoming and they have a lovely ambiance, providing lots of space and seating for a family group yet they also have a cosy feel with big sofas and a wood burning stove. The kitchen is very well equipped and there is plenty of storage space as well as a wine cooler! We loved coming here for a second visit!

We came to these properties to celebrate my 50th birthday. The photos of the properties do not do this place justice. We stayed in Taylors Barn and Bixies Barn with 12 people and both were beautiful. The property is very private and accommodates 6 people in each very comfortably with the dining area in Taylors Barn more than big enough for 12 people to dine. The properties have everything you would need in the kitchens to cater to every kind of meal. There is also plenty of space for cars (we had 6 cars parked). Its only a 5 minute drive into the village and there is a big supermarket in the village if you need anything. The beds and bedrooms were very comfortable but note that one room in each barn has 2 beds quite close together, great for kids. The lounge area is also very comfortable and all 12 of us had a seat. I really cannot recommend this place enough and hope to come back again and again. All of the people were so friendly to deal with including the owner and happily responded to WhatsApp to quick questions. With the keys being on a key code it's easy to manage getting into the properties. We felt very safe, very comfortable and very happy. I would also highly recommend Chef To Home (Eniko) if you are looking for a chef to come in and cook for you. Also outstanding.

Lovely place. We had 2 barns which were beautiful and very well equipped. The games barn was excellent with lots of games etc for adults and children. There was a large grassed area for outside ball games. It was very nice indeed.

Secluded and very comfortable barns, but close to all the local highlights - Holt, Beaches at Salthouse, Cley, Blakeney, Holkham and Sheringham. Ideal properties for two familes, or a group of friends to share.

This family break was to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary with our son and daughter and our 5 grandchildren. Swan Lodge Barns had everything there to make ideal for us all. The children loved the play barn as did all the adults. We would love to come back and stay again so i will be in touch with a date. The owner was more than helpful when we had a query and got back to us very quickly.

Swan Lodge Barns was perfect for our Winter family gathering. It is in a wonderful setting close to many footpaths and the coast. As it was very chilly outside the underfloor heating was much appreciated as was the well equipped kitchen. There was plenty of space to gather after a coastal walk and a browse around the local towns and villages. We enjoyed the en suite bedrooms ( one in each barn) and the spacious and comfortable open areas which allowed plenty of flexibility. We had a lovely long weekend and I would certainly recommend to others.
