Description

The Aldborough, which was originally the coach and cart shed at Jonas Farm Barns, has been converted into a spacious two bedroom single storey property of brick and flint construction and is one of a pair of cottages that can be booked together.  There is a generous open plan living, kitchen and dining area with a large picture window which gives a light and airy feel. A great attraction is the all year round use of a shared heated indoor swimming pool and small children's play area. The barn is perfectly located in a rural setting on the edge of the village of Roughton, and just two miles from the relaxed seaside charm of Cromer. For families wishing to holiday together yet retain their own living space, The Antingham is also available for booking, see property reference 1734  Shop/Pub: 2 miles

There are some times of year more than one slot a day can be booked, but this is not guaranteed. You are requested to bring your own swimming towels.  There is no lifeguard for the pool. Children of any age must be supervised at all times and nobody can use the pool area on their own. The Aldborough is next to The Antingham ref 1734 with a lockable connecting gate between the gardens making them ideal for families holidaying together but wishing to retain their own space.

Roughton provides an ideal base for exploring the coast and countryside of North Norfolk. The seaside town of Cromer has a lovely sandy beach, and pier with its own theatre and traditional seafront entertainment. The area is rich in history and heritage with many museums and fine houses including Felbrigg Hall, which is only one mile away. There are lovely walks to be found close by, ranging from National Trust parkland to cliff-top walks as well as along country lanes and footpaths. The village has a shop and pub, which serves meals, with further amenities available in Cromer.

Reviews

The property was in a great location to allow for easy day trips to the Norfolk coast, local towns and a number of National Trust locations. The house was well equipped, great for a stay with children and/or a dog. The only negative was we booked this property for use of the pool, but there were more properties on the site than we had realised and the pool booking system didn’t allow for easy use. Other than that, great, convenient place to stay.

Mrs T,

We loved every part of our stay and the residents we ran into were so friendly and could not be more helpful. Cromer beach is close so worth a day out. ROARR Dinosaur Park is very good if you have kids, lots to do and only 30mins away.
