Description

Relax and truly unwind at this superb, award-winning barn that lies in the middle of its own mini conservation area, teeming with wildlife. With chances to spot the barn owl who nests at The Barn, to see pheasants, hares and deer, and to enjoy walks from the front door, The Barn is a serene rural getaway. A private walled rose and honeysuckle garden has two large, paved patios with plenty of outdoor furniture and a BBQ, providing an idyllic space to sit back and make the most of a lazy summer’s afternoon. Beyond the patio areas there’s plenty of green space in which children can run and play. The owner’s extended grounds stretch for some 4 acres, where you will find a traditional flower garden, a small orchard, ponds, streams, wildflower meadows - and a tennis court, where you are welcome to play.

The Barn is spacious and light-filled, with beams, a high vaulted ceiling in the main living space and large windows: this is a fantastic area to settle back and unwind in. There is a gallery that overlooks this room and a beautiful wooden curling staircase that leads to the first-floor bedrooms. Alongside the living area is a sociable dining space, ideal for getting together to chat about the day and get ready for tomorrow’s adventures, and there is a stylish and well-equipped kitchen, which is a pleasure to cook in.  All the bedrooms in the property can be made up as either super king or twin beds. There is a ground floor bedroom and family bathroom, and the two upstairs bedrooms both have en-suite shower rooms. The Barn at Moor Hall is a beautiful holiday home and one of our favourites; it could become yours too.  Shop/Pub: 2.5 miles

Sitting towards the edge of the fabulous Glaven Valley, The Barn at Moor Hall is in the middle of a rural conservation area teaming with wildlife. It is four miles from the traditional shops and eateries of Holt, from where one can also take a steam train to Weybourne or the seaside town of Sheringham. National Cycle Routes 2 & 3 sit to the east and west. The area is full of small villages; Hunworth, Stody and Heydon are definitely worth a visit. With a traditional baker, shops, pubs and two of the county's most renowned butchers in neighbouring Briston and Melton Constable, this is a great centre for exploring North Norfolk.

Reviews

A really fabulous barn, immaculately furnished and equipped with wonderfully detailed guest information. We loved the tennis court and the tranquil location.

Mrs H,

This is an excellent cottage - well equipped, very comfortable and highly recommended.

Mr C,

The Barn exceeded our expectations! A peaceful rural setting with excellent facilities throughout the property. We could not have been more pleased with our choice.

Mrs B,

A very isolated and, consequently, very peaceful cottage set in a delightful part of the world. The cottage itself is very well appointed and comfortable.

Mrs K,

The old barn and Moor Hall is a wonderfully converted barn in rural North Norfolk. The conversion has been done to a very high standard, and the property has all that one would need for a comfortable holiday. The owners provided stacks of useful information related to the property and the surrounding areas, presented in amazing detail and order in folders and on a pin board inside the house. There are stunning beaches (especially near Cromer), and interesting villages, and pubs and restaurants all within striking distance. And a bit further afield, trips to Norwich (the cathedral and the Plantation Garden) and to the Sandringham Estate are well worth it. Would thoroughly recommend a stay!
