Thursford is located midway between the towns of Fakenham and Holt and only a few miles from the North Norfolk coast. It is an excellent location for a holiday, offering visitors the chance to enjoy the peace and quiet of a rural setting but also providing easy access to the many attractions in the area. The village is best known for the Thursford Collection, but is also home to Thursford Wood, a medieval wood pasture containing some of the oldest trees in the country.

Reviews

Had a fantastic week, cottage was very comfortable and cosy with lots of space. It's also very centrally located for all of North Norfolk

Mrs B,

Peaceful village location, yet only 20-30 minutes to the coast. Wonderfully spacious open plan interior that fully lived up to the description & photos. Nice King Size bed in main bedroom. Lots of wardrobe space and LOTS of hangers!! Comfy sofas and a decent TV, Also a large dining table if you eat in. Plus theres a large covered area outside for an al fresco BBQ (provided) For dog owners theres a fully fenced in paddock to run you pooch. Been coming to Norfolk for many years. Sadly the quality of much of the pub food on the coast has taken a dive. But being in Thursford we ate more inland and found the quality of food in the area outstanding. Crawfish for Thai & The Carpenters deserve special mention. Busy even at the end of September, so you MUST book. Everything you need for a brilliant week in the country, yet near to some great beaches (Wells & Holkham) The owners live in the farm next door & were perfect hosts. We will be returning to this one!

Mr D,

Perfect location for exploring the various beaches and countryside. The cottage was lovely and the area so peaceful.

Mrs J,

The Hay House was a lovely comfortable cottage with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. There was plenty of outside space for the dog or children to enjoy and the outside covered seating area was a nice place to sit and relax .We thoroughly enjoyed our stay,it was situated within easy reach of all that North Norfolk has to offer. We would certainly stay there again if we were holidaying in the area. The owners were on hand and very helpful especially informing us that certain woodlands did not allow dogs.

Mrs G,

A very well appointed property. Quiet, clean and very comfortable. Ideal for those with mobility issues, a downstairs bedroom with a wet room. Within range of a variety of beaches and adventure parks, the children loved this as well as the upstairs bedrooms. A shame it is not bigger as I would book it for the whole family.

Mrs P,

The hay house is wonderful. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

Previous Customer,

The hay house is wonderful. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

Mrs Patricia H,

The Hay House was beautifully furnished and thoughtfully designed. It was ideal for our two-family unit with two bathrooms. The kitchen is well equipped and Pauline our host made us very welcome. The outdoor seating and barbecue area was also very useful.

Mrs B,

We were disappointed that the nearest pub was a 10 min drive and not within walking distance as advertised. The only TV in the main room, needs updating.

Mr Paul L,

From a welcome greeting by the owner, shortly after arrival to our departure, we experienced no problems at all. The property description was as accurate as can be. We had no need to contact anyone for anything. An extremely comfortable and relaxing Holiday Rental. Thank you.

Previous Customer,
