We’re giving you the chance to win a break at the Sussex seaside, and who better to team up with for this coastal competition than The Seaside Company, makers of stylish, colourful, practical beach items?

The prize is for a stay for four people at Blue Notes beach apartment in Camber. This small seaside village is in the enviable position of being in Sussex, the sunniest county in England. The weather is perfect for spending happy days on the beach, and Camber has one of the best in the country. To reach it from your holiday apartment all you need to do is cross the road, follow the short path through the dunes and marvel as it opens up to nearly seven miles of golden sands.

It’s the perfect place to take a bucket and spade, have a dip in the English Channel, fling a frisbee, work on your tan, and all the other beach pursuits you love. There’s even a burgeoning power kiting scene – you can often see brightly coloured nylon kites vying with sea birds for a place in the azure skies while below them the kite-surfers twist and turn as they perform their tricks. And if you fancy joining them there are local kiting schools who will hire you equipment and show you how to surf, buggy and board – all powered by the wind!

Eating out isn’t a problem either, with several restaurants and cafes in the village and more in nearby Rye, a well-preserved medieval town with plenty of heritage to discover. It’s also the gateway to the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, 560 square miles of woodland, historic parks, pretty lanes and small villages sat atop the distinctive ridges you find in this part of the world. It’s a place to enjoy mountain biking, horse-riding geocaching and numerous other outdoor activities, should you wish to leave the sand behind for a day.

At the end of the day you can retire to your beachfront holiday home, confident in the knowledge that you’ll be enjoying your stay in comfort. This cottage is all on one level, a large open-plan sitting/dining room at the heart of this home. The décor is mainly white with blue hints, as befits an apartment by the sea, and if that gives parents of small children palpitations then fear not, it’s all wipe clean! The kitchen is well-equipped and modern in keeping with the rest of the house. Two bedrooms and a large shower room complete the interior. Outside is a south-facing decked area with sun-loungers, table and chairs, a delightful place to enjoy a warm summer evening.
