Description

Peels End is a charming house tucked away down a private driveway in the heart of the lovely village of Elham, with the benefit of private parking for two cars. The house is spacious and light, and enjoys gorgeous views over its own garden, the church spire and hills in the distance. There is comfortable accommodation for up to six guests.

The hallway/dining area opens onto a large sitting room with a cosy wood burning stove for cooler days, and French doors leading onto the patio for warmer days. Beyond the kitchen is a sunny conservatory, opening on to the patio, all overlooking the garden. Upstairs are three spacious bedrooms, one en-suite, and a family bathroom. The peaceful, enclosed garden is South facing and very spacious with a choice of seating areas.

Elham has become known as a place to eat out and has been listed in the top ten prettiest villages in Kent. There are two dog-friendly historic pubs serving food, one of which is an exceptional gastro pub, a 15th century restaurant with bar, a cafe and a village shop, so there is no need to venture far from the house if you don’t wish to. Elham village is set in the beautiful Elham Valley, nestled between historic Canterbury and Folkestone and Hythe, with their nearby beaches. Elham is in the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so exploring the many footpaths is highly recommended.  The house is pet friendly too and accepts up to two dogs so do bring your four-legged friends and enjoy a walk in the unspoiled countryside followed by a drink or lunch at one of the charming village pubs.

Reviews

A lovely cottage in a very pretty part of the world. Some great local walks and nice pubs very near by.

Mr H,

A real home from home, the cottage has everything for a comfortable stay. Plenty of space, lovely garden, lounge and conservatory both opening onto patio, outdoor seating, beautifully kept, spotless bathrooms. I could go on. The only things to perhaps note are (1) that the front bedroom wardrobes are not available for use and (2) the property is semi-detached, which we didn’t realise from the details. This was not a problem. We couldn’t hear a sound from next door and most of the living space is far from the party wall. However, if you have a particular desire to be detached (we have autistic children who can be very loud so try not to be a nuisance to neighbours) this may be a point for consideration. All in all, this is a really delightful place to stay.

Mrs B,

Lovely clean well appointed property. Garden was fantastic and dog friendly. Directions were simple to follow. Good places to eat in village, without having to drive.

Mr G,

The cottage and garden was really well maintained

Mrs R,
